Developers don’t like to let you see them sweat, but here the strain - of learning new things while pulling together something polished and playable - is barely concealed.Ī typical Dishonored level is riddled with potential pathways towards targets that can be tackled in multiple ways - with a knife in the back, a supernatural sword fight, or something more elaborate and authored. Redfall is the studio’s first-ever attempt at constantly online multiplayer, as well as its inaugural move away from dense, self-contained levels to create a continuous, large-scale space. The reasons for that are, I suspect, embedded in the previous paragraph: ‘co-op’ and ‘open world’. It’s the first missable Arkane game in an age. Same as with every leak, treat this one with a grain of salt, although it does seem legit given how many images came with it. Closer to Borderlands or Assassin’s Creed NPCs. – There are NPCs, but not AI partners replacing human co-op like in Left 4 Dead.-Enemies are a dynamic mix of ranged, melee, vampire, and human.-Mix of traditional weapons like rifles and handguns, and also more unique stuff like a Stake Launcher.-Size of the map is similar in scope to Fallout 76 or Ghost of Tsushima.-There are bossfights in the game similar to bosses of Borderlands.-Get XP from killing enemies and doing missions (theres side missions).-Game can be tackled stealth or guns blazing.Another character had something similar to a shadow hop or other short-range teleport move (Blink ability in Dishonored) -One character had a bird that acted as a sort-of drone, and the other could cloak for added stealth.-Each character has a unique hero ability.– Seamless openworld compared to the likes of BoTw and Ghost of Tsushima.
